The rapidly expanding Jordanian capital, Amman is an economic powerhouse spread over various hills. Atop one sits the Citadel, containing remains of the Roman Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church and an 8th-century mosque and palace.
Also here is the Jordan Archaeological Museum, and at the foot of the hill is a Roman theatre, part built in the rock. Modern housing blocks surround it, but the most avant-garde architecture is in the developing Al Abdali business district.
The tallest Amman structures will be the Jordan Gate Towers and will house one of the city’s high-rise hotels. International brands of restaurants and bar can be found alongside more traditional cuisine in Amman, and many eateries are in the large Mecca Mall and Grand City Mall, which also has a cinema.
Nearby is the desert-like vegetation of Al Hussein National Park, and the Royal Automobile Museum which features cars of King Hussein, ruler for over 40 years and after whom are named city sights such as the King Hussein Business Park and mosque. The King Abdullah I Mosque has a beautiful blue dome, while Abu Darweesh Mosque at Amman’s highest point is a striking black-and-white structure.
Booking.com’s Amman accommodation includes 5-star hotels, apartments in the embassy district, and cheap hostels, all within easy reach of Queen Alia Airport.
Amman has much history that is well worth exploring.
Amman has much history that is well worth exploring. The panoramic view from Amman Citadel is wonderful and should be on every visitor's agenda.
It is an affordable destination, the people are friendly and helpful, and everything just works. Having arrived after visiting Cairo, the difference is vast, and a refreshing change. I'd strongly recommend Amman and Jordan as a travel destination.

Must see in Amman is the Citadel and Roman Theatre. Make sure you get some delicious treats from Habibah Sweets. We enjoyed wandering down Rainbow Street too. We had an excellent meal at Sufra, in a beautiful courtyard.

I was surprised on how kind and helpful are the Jordanians !! It's a very noisy city and very alive until late at night. You can visit different places and feel the rhythm of each one
Delicious kitchen that you are going to love !
Busy roads with reckless drivers .I suggest to use taxi instead of driving
My greetings to Amman ❤️

Everything seems fine, except

Everything seems fine, except
1. That the majority of drivers do not respect pedestrians at crosswalks and drive wildly over pedestrians. In fact, drivers do not respect themselves, because before they became drivers, they were pedestrians themselves.
2. The exchange rates is depended on your face, starts from exchanges in airport ( its not exchange point its robbery point), the rate is different for different people's and that was terrible.

Οur general stay in Jordan was amazing.
Οur general stay in Jordan was amazing. We saw everything we wanted to see. We visited Petra, the Dead Sea, stayed in the Wadi Rum desert and saw Amman. The prices in the hotels were very good but everything else we paid was very expensive (camel rides, desert safari, entrance to Petra and Dead Sea, food etc). Although we enjoyed this trip we would not go again due to cost.

Amman is a blend of old and new.
Amman is a blend of old and new. The citadel is a great place to visit for panoramic views of Amman and history from the Ammonite kingdom, to Byzantines, to Ummayyads. It has a nice small archaeological museum along with the ruins. The downtown is lovely to sit at a restaurant and watch people. Hashem is a great inexpensive restaurant there. You can get the best falafel, hummus, and a cup of tea for 1 1/2 dinar. The King Abdullah mosque is a good place to visit. You can easily travel to the archaeological (mainly Roman) ruins of Jerash from Amman. The ruins in Jerash are probably the best preserved Roman ruins outside Rome, without the crowd of Rome.

My stay at the Jawad hotel was exceptional, my room was very clean with a high quality of furnishings, also a city view of the bustling streets below.
The hotel is located in the heart of the downtown area, and is easy walking distance from the major historical sights of Amman.
Mohmmed on reception sent me a WhatsApp on arrival, with detailed information regarding local restaurants, currency exchange ect.
They can also provide itinerary packages for onward travel around Jordan if required.
The Hotel is located at the heart of down town with vibrant atmosphere. Close to Roman Theatre, Amman Citadel and Nympho Theatre. Fantastic tasty breakfast with the best Humus we had in a while. Yahia the Hotel Manager was a gem of a person. He will give you a run down about the area and suggest you best places to eat and shopping. Yahia is the best person for your Jordan trip helping you unconditionally.
The hotel was lovely and clean and in a fantastic location right In the centre of Amman. The host Bassam is lovely and super helpful! He arranged a day tour to the Dead Sea for a great price and helped us find the bus times for Jerash. He sent us a long list of recommendations for restaurants and activities which was very helpful. I hope to be back soon! Thank you Alex and Leo
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very comfortable & clean. Unique concept with each room being named after a Jordanian music artist. Has a restaurant attached which is an outdoor garden -serves food/drinks all day & has a good atmosphere in the evenings.
Location is good - a 25 min walk or 8 min taxi ride to downtown Amman.
I stayed in many hotels in Amman with rating 3-5 stars. Staff and location were always good including this hotel. However, this is the only hotel that stood out in terms of cleanliness, organisation and value for money, will definitely be my choice for any future stays
