This was our favorite hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip to Italy. Positano crowds are insance and this was a perfect retreat from the madness. Easy to get to from the port if you take a ferry. They have a porter service for no additional charge that makes it very convenient to get your bags to and from the port. Pupetto also has it's own beach club on Fornillo beach which we loved and felt more exclusive. As a guest you get the discounted rate, which is totally worth it. Much better beach than the chaotic Spiaggia Grande. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. Nice view from the second floor looking over the beach and bay. They have a great restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a beautiful view of the water. Especially liked the "Pupetto" pizza. Would recommend to anyone who needs a fab 3 star hotel in Positano without overpaying or feeling claustrophobic.

Positano is a bit of a mixed bag.
It is beautiful.
Positano is a bit of a mixed bag.
It is beautiful. The sea, the old streets, the coloured buildings rising steeply above you, and the views from the top are amazing.
We ate well, and found lots of friendly people.
The town itself is along one long road, which is very busy in high season. The main tourist section is full of tat shops and difficult to walk along due to crowds. That wasn't fun. Get a good hotel in the centre that has a peaceful place to hide away, such as the Palazzo Murat.

If you plan to spend time in Positano, La Tavolozza is where...
If you plan to spend time in Positano, La Tavolozza is where you want to stay. It’s located on the town’s “main street”, putting it close to shops, great restaurants, and views of the city from its position situated up the mountain that overlooks the sea. And it is only a few steps to a pedestrian walkway lined with shops that takes you down to the beach.
It was a special treat to learn that La Tavolozza is a multigenerational family owned and run business. Franchesca, Paola, Roberta (two sisters and a cousin) run La Tavolozza from their heart. They care about you as a person, not as a tenant. They go out of their way to help make your stay in Positano the best it can be. For example, Paulo helped us arrange a trip to Pompei. And breakfast is delivered to your room, so you can ease into your day at a pace of your choosing.
If you want to get a feel for the real Italy, stay here. It is not a sterile, corporate-managed operation. You will leave Positano with a smile and a bit of sadness because your time at La Tavolozza has ended.

Positano is beautiful but crowded and hard to get around.
Positano is beautiful but crowded and hard to get around. Highly recommend the smaller beach , and Fernando's beach club.
Also, take Ferry to capri. Do not book boat tours- they don't leave from Positano- they bus you to Sorrento. Two hour journey instead of much cheaper high speed 30 min. Ferry. You can get boat tours on Capri .

The breakfast was wonderful and there were plenty of options to eat. There is a nice view of the ocean. The staff and owners of the property were very friendly and were very nice to my husband while we were away at our hike. The room had all the basic needs. There is only 1 road going in an out of Positano and in areas only goes one way. If you have walking issues you are best to stay at one of the hotels on the main road. My husband found it very difficult because of all the step and this hotel is not on the major road.
Beautiful hotel and pool, excellent food and breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early and went out to the pool which had stunning views of Positano. Recommended restaurant by the hotel was wonderful too with a shuttle service. We used the hotel boat hire for a wonderful day on the water - all very easy to arrange.
One of my favourite stays of our entire Italy trip!
The location is perfect, right at the bottom of Positano on the beach, the rooms were clean and spacious, the staff were friendly, they even gave us an upgrade to Seaview!
I was hesitant because of the reviews but couldn’t recommend this place enough, will be back!
Everything. Staff were the best staff at a 5 star I've ever encountered. It's a real 5 star hotel.
The view. Incredible.
The rooms were beautiful.
The food was also so so good. I'll be back next year.
Location of the hotel is the best, right next to the main beach Positano Spiaggia and the main street. View from the restaurant terrace was amazing and and breakfast was very good.
