The facilities are good and clean and the staff are amazing and friendly. The bed in the room is comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was lovely and the complimentary vetkoek the evening with dinner as amazing (you should add that to your extras menu and your breakfast menu).

My room was impeccably clean, well stocked (hygiene items, coffee and rusks, a carafe of sherry as a gift, etc) and the amenities, including a refreshing pool and a large balcony, really elevate the stay. The breakfast spread is a culinary delight, and the dining room has a farmhouse charm to it. What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the hosts, ensuring a memorable stay. Vineyard Country House promises an enchanting escape, leaving guests longing to return.

Our suite was spacious, clean with beautiful antique furniture.
Our rate included breakfast which included homemade muesli, fresh fruit & a hot option.
What made this stay exceptional is the staff. Rene made us feel welcome & went out of her way to ensure that my mother & I were comfortable.

- only a few kilometer away from Montagu.
All are build in a row, so no disturbance from others - the view from the Stoep is phantastic!!
The cottage has all needed as self caterer, was clean and had comfy beds.
Fotos and explanation on Booking are absolutely correct.
Contact and communication with hosts are easy and very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend the Cottage.

A lovely clean little town located about a 2hr drive from Cape Town. Blown away with how well maintained the town is, with lots of little browsy type shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Everything was lovely.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, good facilities for kids. Children enjoyed the pools and play park. The astro turf for mini soccer and tennis courts are well maintained. The games room was not available for use due to a function, this was not ideal as it is part of the Montagu resort experience.and should always be open to its residents. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and clean. The villa we stayed in is a bit dated. Generators should be used during loadshedding.All in all, a wonderful experience. One of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, with mountains all round the views are beautiful throughout the year. The town has enough shops and restaurants for locals and tourists, but not so much that it becomes crowded (although I haven't been there during peak season). A good fusion between winelands and Karoo.

Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town. We went for school rugby so did not get much time to spend sight seeing, but really enjoyed the natural beauty and friendliness of the towns' people. We had dinner at Mitchell's Pub and Grill....truly some of the most value for money and tasty rump steak I have had a very long time.

Beautiful old Cape town with many original buildings and points of interest. A walking tour around the town is pleasant as long as you steer clear of the main street and its surrounds, which are very shabby. There are many choices of venue to have a meal if you are not fussy about food, but for fine dining you should try the Montagu Country Hotel's Charleston Restaurant.

The farm fresh eggs were tasty and the Muscadel was a sweet treat for the end of the night. Henk was a superb host and made sure we got day passes at Gauna Caves which the kids enjoyed. The unit is so beautiful and had everything one would ever need. Although we were close to town it felt isolated enough to unwind and recharge. The best part of the stay was having full assess the farm grown veg and fruit. We will definitely be back again.
