Visiting Amalfi in the off-season was a good choice.
Visiting Amalfi in the off-season was a good choice. It felt like a normal town where you could see people work, go to school, shop for groceries and chat with neighbours. The tourist sites were open, parking was easy and we had the beautiful spots all to ourselves - the gardens of the Villla Rufulo in Ravello, the Sentiero degli Dei between Agerola and Nocelle, the black sand beaches, and plenty of restaurants are open.

December was perfect time, not crowded and plenty of shops and restaurants were open, beautiful small town with great views, I rather stay at amalfi than Positano where the whole town was shut down for winter and very over priced, you can take a day trip there on local bus for £3 one way.

Very nice place for a couple of days.
Very nice place for a couple of days. Expensive but not as much as Positano. The roads are crazy and when we were there, they were closed for most part of the day. The ferries were not working due to the weather.
Transportation and parking are a nightmare there.

Amalfi has everything you need for accommodations, food and shopping. It's the Amalfi Coast hub for Ferries and Buses to get you in and out of the area. A very bustling place and overcrowded for the middle of October. In past years the busy season was over by the end of September. Everyone seems to still be making up for the COVID shutdowns. Hoping it calms down in the coming years.

Loved Amalfi, the views are spectacular and the water is Beautiful!
So much to see and do, six days was not enough. We enjoyed staying in Amalfi town, the ferry service was great to all the other towns, a nice central location with all amenities!❤️
We had a junior suite with view and the view was spectacular. Room was very nice. Patio and view was superb. One of the nicest rooms we stayed at while in Italy. Busy street during the day but was quiet at night. Recommend taxi or bus to get to hotel from ferry port/Amalfi center as the walk is uphill and no fun with luggage. Without luggage the walk is not too bad, maybe 15 minutes. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly and helped arrange transport to get back down to the ferry port on our day of departure. Thank you!
My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and absolutely loved it!! The views are incredible, even better than the photos online. Not many hotels/b&bs have views like this in Amalfi so this place is a gem! Additionally, the staff (especially Luciano) was amazing. They were super friendly, they helped us with transportation to other parts of the coast, and they gave us restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend Donna Guilla and would absolutely stay here again!!
amazing location with incredible panoramic views of the glorious amalfi coast from the bedroom and also the very pretty garden has so much charm! Antonio was an exceptional host, he and Nicoletta gave us a warm welcome on arrival with drinks & crucial local information to cater for every need for our trip. He couldn’t have done more for us to ensure everything went well.. local restaurant recommendations and the hotel shuttle bus was so so important and appreciated!!
Property is beautiful and cleaned, amazing and lovely staff. Delicious breakfast everyday served at the terrace, rooms smell really good all the time. There are steps to go to the facility, something actually normal at the Amalfi Coast, however you can make it without steps using another way to get to the hotel. Rooms have nice balconies as well. i would recommend 100% to my family and friends this property if they ever decide to go and stay in Amalfi.
Lovely bucolic setting in the back of Amalfi town, easy to get anywhere on the coast (as well as Napoli and Salerno!). The staff is amazing - I woke up early to hike the Path of the Gods and they gave me a butter and chocolate croissant to go literally hot out of the oven. Sit down breakfast on the terrace was also super pleasant. Room is spacious, sparkling clean, AC is great. There was a clothes horse to dry a swimsuit on the balconette.
Amazing host who’s welcoming and supportive to catering to all needs and enquires , with the room hosting the most scenic balcony , the location is a 25 min walk from Amalfi city centre with stunning views of the coast and hills. The property was clean, spacious and had featured all amenities needed with a fully stocked kitchen, complimentary snacks and beverages, washing machine, its a must stay when considering traveling to Amalfi.
Killer view and gorgeous tile. We sat out on the balcony until well after sundown appreciating the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Funny configuration of the apartment, very narrow to hug the hillside, but not a problem. Bonus - great view while sitting on the toilet! Note: This hotel has two locations, one in the square and one on along the cliffs a few minutes from town. We stayed on the cliffs with the view.
The room is big and the bathroom is the biggest i've ever seen. Lisa was amazing, extremely kind. The breakfast is italian and you can choose to eat at the balcony, with the amazing view of the Amalfi Coast. The bus stop is in front of the hotel which made a big difference because you have to use public transportation or you might be run over by cars and buses. I had a really great time at Villa Viviani!
Christian manages the hotel and is extremely helpful and knowledgeable
The rooms have been remodeled and are clean with modern amenities
Staff is very nice
City center location is close to ferry and bus stations and restaurants are within easy walking distance
There are steps but they are part of the Amalfi coast experience. If you are mobility compromised, don’t come to the Amalfi coast
Enormous hotel & rooms, which I honestly didn't expect from the Amalfi coast. We also had a gigantic terrace with a view on the sea and the city. The breakfast was a big buffet and you get to eat in front of the sea.
Everything was so clean you could see your reflexion on the floor.
Parking perfectly indicated and managed, they park and bring you your car. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The view was incredible. We had room number 8.!nice balcony. Very clean. Andrea on reception was extremely helpful. The breakfast is brought to the room and you can choose from a wide range of options. They offer parking in Amalfi at 30 euro per day. That is expensive but remember that parking along the Amalfi coast is almost impossible.
The rooms were all well curated, spacious, new with great views. The breakfast delivered to your room every morning is amazing. It’s a small boutique hotel with only 5 rooms but everything very well done and the staff always super attentive and caring. Very close walk distance to Amalfi. I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing balcony view! The room was so clean and spacious with a very nice bathroom, mini fridge, and big bed that provided a much needed break on the beautiful amalfi coast. Great location in town right near the water and all facilities were working perfectly. Would definitely recommend staying here!
best hotel ever! absolute faultless hotel ,every corner a work of art. Room was superb with views over the amalfi coast. Bed was extra comfy. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing with every possible breakfast dish avail. best omelette i have ever had ! BRAVO BORGO!!!!
Beautiful location, easy 20 minute walk into the main Amalfi town with a stunning beach just down the road.
Bus stop is metres from the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Waking up to the sunrise over the Amalfi coast was divine. If you want a place with a view - this hotel has it.
A good continental breakfast. I don't eat breakfast but my traveling companion did and she enjoyed it. The hotel had a lift which is perhaps unusual in the Amalfi Coast but was an added bonus!! Staff were amazing, funny, helpful, always on hand. Luca, Nello & Valeria - we miss you!
We’re return visitors to Hotel Aurora, and we love it so much. It’s a 5 minute walk from the main part of town but when you walk along the flat coast it’s just beautiful. Wonderful rooms, fabulous staff, the breakfast here is so amazing!
The property is nice and comfortable, located in the heart of Amalfi, perfect to visit the city and strategic to explore the rest of the coast. Maurizio is an amazing host, kind and helpful.
