We can’t get enough of the Elephant Park and we’re loving the Safari’s at Schotia. Zip lining at Adrenaline is also one of our favourites. We are living 4 hours away from Addo, so most of the time we are coming for the weekend ( Two nights) . It’s always too short…
The area "Addo" is not really nice, but there are nice places to stay.

Addo Elephant National Park was nice.
Addo Elephant National Park was nice. We saw tons of elephants, zebras, and other resident animals native to this area in the park. Probably best to spend one night in accommodations in or near the national park and then the other night in one of the game reserves near the park.

Addo has a lot to see but as with all national parks, what you see will depend on weather and season. The park is small enough to cover in a day but definitely would recommend a longer stay.
Elephants are always there but what I enjoy more are the smaller things like the birds. The bush is dense so if self driving, slow down.

Watching the elephants swimming at the different dams, it was a good experience. We spent the whole day driving around hoping to see a lion with no luck. I don't think they have a lion. I haven't heard any guest saying s/he saw a lion.

Addo Elephant Park is absolutely worth a visit.
Addo Elephant Park is absolutely worth a visit. We have done the car safari which allows you to drive to the park and spot animals yourself. We have seen many elephants, zebras, antilopes, and many more. The animals have an amazing reserve to live in, very green and enough water around.

Addo National Park is decent - Lots of driving with limited animal spotting. We did get to see the elephants very closely which was good.
The Addo Wildlife Private Game Reserve drive where we were staying was better, with a lovely experiential dinner at the end.
Suzette was INCREDIBLY hospitable and helpful and she is an AWESOME cook! The grounds and lodging are idyllic and a perfect setting for wedding. The rooms were clean and super spacious and there are "domed" accommodations that offer total privacy. The breakfasts were ample and tasty and the dinners were simple but incredible (they just started offering dinner). The guesthouse is conveniently located about 30 minutes from the Addo Elephant National Park and excellent in-town dining.
Very close to Addo Elephant park. The area feels a bit unsafe, but the owner did a well job to have full protection. Also super friendly. We stayed very short, so we couldnt see the beauty of the domain, but the view on the garden during breakfast was promising! Good beds.
Tip: If you come from the airport, try to avoid the suburbs around Port Elizabeth when driving in the evening. Better make a small detour over Coega.
We couldn’t recommend this place more highly - you HAVE to stay here if you’re visiting Addo which is only 10 mins away. Beautiful apartments with cosy modern rooms and a braii area, great communal pool and dining room. The food here is amazing and really high level - delicious every time! The staff are the highlight, so friendly and helpful. Thanks Addo Team for one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had.
Lovely peaceful location, comfy tent and a yummy breakfast. Hosts were lovely and very helpful with info. It was about a 45 to 55 minute drive to Addo Elephant park on tarred road. So not close but not too far either. The dirt road might have been quicker but would have been a bit rough on the tyres. Family tent with bunk beds for the kids had everything we needed.
The views over the Sunday river are magnificent! The room was very well equipped and the daily cleaning service at no extra cost was such an added bonus. Lisa, the host, was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. This is the perfect stay when you want to visit Addo Elephant Park, only 12km from the main gate. Great value for money.
The location was perfect for our visit to Addo Elephant Park.
The accommodation was wonderful.
I was really impressed with the outside shower, the size of the bathroom and inside shower.
The beds were comfortable and the linen was superb.
The chalets were very well thought out and the design was great.
Kaitlin is super friendly, supportive and knowledgable! We got a free upgrade because it was quite. We could use some pegs to dry our clothes on the washing line. It was just a 10 minute drive from the main entrance of Addo Elephant Park.
The big room is very comfortable. The garden is amazing and the staff very kind. We absolutely loved the restaurant! The hotel is located close to the Addo Park which made it the perfect spot for our trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town!
We loved the experience in the bush, and the shower in the bush. The best fish fried for us for dinner and very friendly hosts.
A good view over the large and well taken care of citrus farm. Close to the Addo Elephant park,
Wonderful quiet location above a valley near Addo Elephant National Park. Cheerful owner welcomed me and gave me an excellent breakfast the next day. The weaver birds were a great bonus!
Very close to the addo, amazing staff and great breakfast to start a long day on a game drive. The host is super friendly and going the extra mile everyone leaves with a big smile
Great location for Addo elephant park, host was lovely and couldn’t do enough for you, they even washed my car free of charge at the end of stay, highly recommend this place
Super friendly people working there. The rooms are big and comfortable. Perfect is that it‘s very close to Addo Elephant park and the price point for a night is also good.
Beautiful hotel with nice gardens and views. Staff is helpful and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed our short stay and we will be back.
