1. Room was quite comfortable with a good view of the Acropolis from the balcony (though one had to move to one of the corners for that). 2. Lounge was very good with good snacks and drinks available for possibly one of the longest durations. 3. Buffet breakfast was very good (a little comment below) and the view from the 9th floor was grand. 4. Contrary to some reviews that I read earlier, the hotel elevators functioned perfectly and we were not inconvenienced anytime. 5. Getting Uber taxis from and to the hotel was not a problem. A few grocery stores/supermarkets/restaurants are also within walkable distance from the hotel. The proximity of the hotel to a few 'entertainment' joints could, however, be an eyesore, but one can choose to ignore.

Great location on busy Ermou St but quiet room for sleeping. The rooftop restaurant and bar was perfect. Lots of choices for breakfast with indoor and outdoor seating. View of the Acropolis was a bonus. Had a late night dinner there our last night which was delicious.

FAQs about hotels in Athens

Dynamic City With 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history while embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you'll find tavernas serving tantalizing souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds of the city center.

The changing of the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here, Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The upscale districts Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens has some of the finest museums in the world, such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Athens is a truly unique city where ancient history and modern life blend beautifully. Walking through the streets, you’re constantly surrounded by incredible landmarks like the Acropolis and Parthenon, yet at the same time you’ll find lively cafés, vibrant neighborhoods, and amazing food around every corner. The energy of the city is contagious, the people are warm and welcoming, and there’s always something new to discover—whether it's a hidden rooftop view or a cozy taverna with live music. Athens left a lasting impression on me!

Loved Athens and the convenience of the HOHO buses.

Loved Athens and the convenience of the HOHO buses. We stayed at the Acropolis House in Plaka and it could not have been in a better location! The staff was super friendly and helpful and welcoming. The interaction at the hotel started off the 10 day trip with a huge smile on our faces! We did a cruise on Celestyal and we highly recommend that cruise line and the port calls and services were excellent. The archeological museum in Athens is a must-see, which we were not anticipating going to prior to our trip. We finished our vacation staying in the Athens Squared Apartments, which we also highly recommend. More spacious than Acropolis House and we were able to explore a different part of the city that we wouldn't have ventured to if we had stayed in Plaka the whole time.

Athens was great! We stayed for 3 nights but two full days. I'm sure we would have enjoyed 3 full days there too. I definitely recommend the BigBus/HopOnHopOff/CityLine buses. I wouldn't rent a car in Athens. There are plenty of those big buses driving around the city all day to take you to all of the sites. The beaches in Athens were beautiful too! We loved the area Voula. It was a great place to experience local Greek life by the beach. The restaurants in Vouliagment were exception with beautiful beach views. Big shoutout to both Panorama and Garbi - we enjoyed the food and atmosphere at both locations. I also enjoyed visiting the sites around Greece. I thought I wouldn't be interested in the Acropolis but it ended up being a really cool place to see! I loved walking / shopping around Syntagma Square as well. Athens was definitely a cool city to check out both for site seeing and relaxation.

1- Athens is FULL of Pickpockets and thieves; there is a special police station just for tourists to report their incidents! I was rubbed and when I went to this police station to report it, there were at least 10 other tourists that were there to report similar incidents! I met several tourists that told me that their stuff including passports, wallets and jewelry were stolen from their hotel rooms! 2-The Acropolis surrounding area and in general the tourist areas are full of restaurants with low quality and overpriced food and horrible service! Best is to find restaurants where local people eat, in there you get much more quality food for a fraction of the price (compare a 30+Euro vs. 6-7 Euro for a similar plate!) 3- Except a few Archaeological Sites, Athens really does not have much to offer to the tourists.

Getting around Athens can be tricky because of the small streets, but once you walk a few times around, you'll know your way around. My favorite spot was the Thissio View. The is at the to of the hill on the way to the Acropolis. The view looking at the Acropolis at sunset was just beautiful.

Fantastic location, easy walking to all Athens has to offer! Magnificent view of Acropolis from balcony. Lots of little extras such as wine, ouzo and sunscreen provided. Stelios also provided fantastic communication from the beginning of the booking and organised for John the taxi driver to pick us up from airport for 50€. John gave us wonderful information about Greece, and where to go, and Stelios also provided recommendations… we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days in Athens and would definitely 😃recommend the apartment.

We stayed for one night after coming to Athens and on the way to northern Greece. The hotel is not far from the airport and is easily accessible if you travel by car (we've rented it). Overall, the prices are rather high for the secluded place. The quality of the room as expected to such standard of the hotel. Nothing surprising.
