BUGA was the draw, and it was well worth it.
BUGA was the draw, and it was well worth it. Loved the area and the revitalized neighborhoods nearby including the canals. The astronomical clock at the Rathaus was fascinating. Great paths for walking and biking along the riverways. Good and new public transportation.

Good food and wine/beer.
Good food and wine/beer. The city was heavily damaged during WWII and was rebuild in the typical, unassuming 1950th style, so do not expect to come here for much of history. The surrounding vineyards are lovely and makes Heilbronn as a perfect place to explore the country side.

The city is very green, especially with the Bundesgartenschau close to the heart of the centre. The river walk makes for enjoyable walks in romantic scenery without motor traffic. There are lots of cyclists all over the town. Heilbronn has some excellent restaurants, I highly recommend Velo which offers delicious vegan food, nicely presented. Make sure to book a table, it seems to be a popular place.

Pleasant town, friendly people. The hotel was nice, and as expected. The host very welcoming, the room very clean, but basic (I had a single room as a solo traveler). Dining facilities are excellent - including the outside deck. Check in and check out very easy. Good value for the money given it is the height of the summer season.

The room was in excellent condition and had a new bathroom. Staff told me that they are also progressively updating room decor. The hotel is a few minutes walk (or 1 s bahn stop) from the main station. Beautiful views over the river and parkland, and a short walk to shops and the Bildungscampus of the Technical University. Staff were friendly, helpful, and did everything with a smile. Totally recommend this hotel

It's not a new building but everything seemed like they'd been updated recently. Even though it had been hot during the days once we opened the windows the room was airy and comfortable for sleeping at night. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood but a short walk to shops and restaurants. The couple who run the hotel are the loveliest people, so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great.
