Location is great in a suburb place with great outdoor space good for walks. Not far from public transportation. Staff were welcoming and friendly. They were apologetic of the short comings. The place was clean.

For the price this was a decent overnight stay. The room, although small, had a comfortable bed and a walk-in shower. The highlight was KaptainMasala.co.uk; an Indian take away on site that served up really good food. If Indian isn't to your taste there is a Miller and Carter Steak house a short walk away.
Located 26 km from Stansted Airport and just minutes from the M11/M25, this refurbished 14th century former coaching inn now offers comfortable en suite accommodation in this quiet village.

We had been warned by our local friends to expect the worst, based on experiences in the past, but they were very wrong:, the Green Man was a really pleasant surprise. It has been fully renovated, and the decor is fresh and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and warm, and really made us feel at home.
Our dinner in the restaurant also exceeded expectations. It was fairly standard pub food but well-prepared, plenty of choice for those in our group with food allergies, and all served with a smile.
We use to live in this area and was nice to re-visit.
We use to live in this area and was nice to re-visit. Still have family in the area, which we visited and also attended a funeral. Very nice area within easy reach of underground etc.... if you wish to visit London etc...

I was there for a family wedding and hadn't been to Epping before. People were friendly and place had a nice character to it. I saw courtesy from motorists to other motorists/pedestrians that was refreshing in this day & age and is a credit to the people of Epping. Thumbs up for Epping from me.

Really nice town, lots of independent shops and restaurants as well as more familiar high street names. The main road is always busy, which was a bit of minus, but to be expected so close to London. The forest and country walks are all around even though it’s only a few miles from the M25 and M11, it still felt as if you were very rural.
very clean and decorated to a high standard. very comfortable nights sleep and even has a complementary coffee machine in the room.
overall very much enjoyed our stay the only slight down side I’d say is it’s not the cheapest. is about the same cost as the Marriott at Waltham Abby. But as it’s in a great location to Epping and the makeover from the thatched house it’s undergone I can I understand why. I would stay again.
Excellent location for exploring Epping Forest. The room & bed was comfortable & it made a pleasant change to be able to control the heating.
The staff were very friendly & the curry which we ordered was bought to our room. The meal itself was probably the best curry I've had for a long time.
The hotel might be close to a very busy roundabout but we heard very little traffic noise inside the room.
A really quirky hotel with stunning interiors. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, the little touches made our stay just wonderful.
Dinner was amazing! I had the monkfish and it was cooked tp perfection. The desert was a mini masterpiece on a plate and looked almost too good to eat and tadted even better.
Really couldn't fault our stay.
This is our second stay here and had booked and on arrival we was given a free upgrade to a larger room with a garden view of Epping Forest bed was very comfortable staff very friendly and helpful and great sleep nice feel about the place great value for money would definitely stay again
two bedroom family apartment. with cooker microwave sink etc location ok for buses to train stations etc. Epping forest on the doorstep. clean and comfortable. Great value for money. Tv and couch in living area also table and stools. we stayed 2 nights and wanted more!
With very little options in the Epping area this guest house is a 5 min drive to the centre. Very quiet location. Perfect for a short break if you have family nearby. The host Des, was very nice and keen to ensure your stay was comfortable.
Loved this place, wish I could have stayed longer. No room at the airport hotels and this was my closest option. Lovely. I arrived late and left very early, but I was very comfortable and felt safe and welcomed.
Des is a lovely host and so helpful. The house is lovely and spacious, our bedroom was huge with a lovely big bath and views across the pasture. Its a great location for Epping and The Barns (weddings).
The location was most interesting, Forest lodge used to be a livery yard and I worked there. It was close enough to Epping so I was easily able to get to the underground station for a trip to London.
