Sorrento was lovely- I wouldn't suggest going in late Feb like we did - wait until their season gets going as lots of things are shut for the winter.
I would probably stay a max of 3 days here or stay on the prettier Amalfi coast side and do a day trip to Sorrento- its easily reached by bus.

I was traveling with people for whom the steep streets were hard to walk. But it is a lovely city. It was”off-season” In January, many restaurants were closed as expected. Yet there was still heavy traffic and hard to park, not expected.
We drove up to Pompei and loved that marvelous place. If you have any walking issues,I recommend staying in town. We had great seafood at restaurants recommended by a taxi driver and a shopkeeper. That’s an advantage of traveling off-season; people have time to talk to you.

Sorrento itself requires one hour to get fully acquainted with. We used the town as a base to go Amalfi and Positano, Pompei and Naples. The road to the Amalfi coast is a switchback disaster. Think twice before driving there on your own. And sadly you cannot appreciate the beauty of the towns when you are in. It's only visible from the sea or from the air, as in those famous pictures.

This is my second time back in Sorrento and it's such a vibe. It is also one of the best cities in Italy for shopping! You always find amazing gift ideas, and leather items and don't forget limoncello! I love the food, the atmosphere and how it's still has a great vibe even in slow season. I totally recommend Sorrento as a base for exploring Southern Italy.

Delightful town/village, sits atop the 200-foot or so palisade of the Mediterranean Sea, picturesque views of the sea, down to earth people, lovely upscale mansions/homes along the ocean, many shops and restaurants, narrow and quaint little alleyways/streets that are an artist's delight, clean and well maintained village/town.

Lovely old town on the coast - access to see other great areas, Napoli, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii.
Wanted to try every single little cafe - we will have to go back! The food was wonderful!
Make sure you take good walking shoes!
Our host was the best in Italy! The apartment was super clean and modern. We enjoyed the balcony and it’s view of Sorrento life! morning day and night. The city changes all day. So convenient. Grocery store steps away. Cafes right down stairs. Apartment on first floor with elevator but we didn’t use it. Lots of light. very quiet when balcony doors closed. Air conditioning works very well. it is right in heart of Sorrento charm! Our family of 3 enjoyed the visit. Apartment had everything we needed thanks to our kind host.
We stayed here for our mini tour of Italy for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our choice of accomodation here. Comfortable, convenient and very central it was perfect for us. Sorrento is a beautiful location and the host was very welcoming and informative. We managed to get some peace and quiet even whilst being in the middle of the shops and restaurants. The suite had beautiful furnishings and was very clean and stylish. You even have USB ports by your bed to easily plug in electronics without an adaptor.
The first stop in Italy is such a perfect hotel, spacious design rooms, lovely staff, and a daily surprise breakfast. What's more perfect is the location of the hotel, located in the center of the city, whether it is shopping, eating, or going to the dock to sea, it is very convenient, walk within ten minutes to reach! Driving is also very convenient, the hotel provides personal parking service, do not need to worry about ztl problems and grab a parking space, highly recommended!
This was the best stay in our Italy trip so far. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved having bar service for cocktail hour on the patio and the rooftop terrace. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was really good. Excellent value for the money
.
Don't try hiking up the hill with your suitcases! Get some EAV or Sita bus tickets at the train station as the walk up the hill on cobblestones to the hotel is exhausting on a hot day.
The location of the property was great, only a short walk to the centre. There is a deli/convenience store below which is very handy. We would highly recommend getting a fresh made sandwich (great for bringing on a day trip to Amalfi/Positano, etc; ).
The unit was spacious and clean, and a great price for Sorrento. They come by each day to remake the bed and change towels every two days (no where else we stayed in Italy did this for us, so this was a nice treat).
The staff at La Piazetta goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, comfortable and excited to be in Italy. Catarina was communicative since the moment I booked until the moment I left. We appreciate her always taking the time to give us detailed instructions and recommendations. In fact, she was so caring, I assumed she was the owner, but no, just an employee who takes pride in her job. We miss her and La Piazetta already!
An absolutely gorgeous home, set on beautiful grounds overlooking Sorrento Port and Mount Vesuvius. Fantastic location as well, close to everything you need. A wrap around terrace allows amazing views from both bedrooms (which are huge). Very spacious and Fabiana was such a helpful host. Thank you for letting my family and I stay in this beautiful space. We thought it was the best accommodation of our entire 2 weeks in Italy.
I chose this hotel while on vacation in Italy. Because I don't like Naples. His location is only 10 minutes walk from the train station. All shops and supermarkets on the doorstep. No matter where you go, it is very convenient to get around. There are boats and buses. Waiters cleaned every day. The room was also prepared with coffee and water. I like it very much. I recommend everyone to come here. You will be satisfied
Location wise, it was perfect. 5 minute walk to the centre, 10 minutes to the beach, everything you need is within walking distance.
Communication from the host was top tier, could not have been more accomodating!
The room itself was perfect, so comfortable, spacious, clean, modern and the bathroom was the best we’ve had in Italy.
Cant say enough good things about this place!
The host provided us with all the information we needed, great recommendations on places to visit, restaurants, and how to get around. We followed his recommendations and we were able to enjoy so much and saved time and energy. The bed is comfortable, bathroom and terrace are excellent. Location is incredible. Igor his dog was lovely. one of the best stay we had in italy.
Everything was great in our stay! Super clean, modern, exactly as the photos, 5 min walking from the bus/train station and 10 min walking from the city center. The breakfast included is simple, possible in 2 different cafeterias, one brioche or croissant, a coffee and a juice, but all were so good!
I really recommend, one of the best places in Italy that we've stayed.
This location is conveniently located in the heart of Sorrento. The hosts were very accommodating and gave us a list of recommendations upon arrival. They were also very responsive to questions and check-in. The beds were more comfortable than most places I have stayed in Italy. We will gladly stay again on our next visit.
The hotel had a perfect location, nice pool with a beautiful view. pleasantly surprised on how nice our room was. quad room had privacy door and two bathrooms. The staff was very friendly. Parking on site made our stay easier. breakfast plentiful. Out of 7 hotels we booked for Italy Rivage was the best.
Lovely Enrica..she is available all the time with VERY speedy respose to her guests. She is providing me with all information I need about italy at any time through what's up despite I left her hotel one month back..Best hotel In italy because of ERICA..
The best place we stayed during our stay in Italy. I would highly reccomend booking this place if you are in Sorrento as you won't regret it. It is a brand new room and breakfast was delicious. I will come back to this place every time I am in sorrento.
Loved everything about this place! Beautiful little B&B. Short 10 minute walk to Sorrento center. Vanna and Mario are the most gracious hosts. Breakfast was excellent. Probably the best B&B we stayed at on our month long journey through Italy!
Everything was amazing. Christina the Manager was exceptional in every way. The rooms are impeccably clean and so refreshingly styled. Sorrento is so beautiful and the breakfast was the best I had in Italy for variety. Faultless.
best place to stay in Sorrento. I have been telling everyone about how friendly. beautiful and the exceptional service at Romantic Relais Sorrento. our favourite place to stay in Italy
The property is amazing! It felt like we had our own oasis in the middle of this busy area. It was the favorite location we stayed in our trek across Italy.
