What a beautiful city and surrounding areas.
What a beautiful city and surrounding areas. So much to see and do, much of it just a short drive away - for instance, seeing the Black Madonna at Oropa, visiting the mediaeval castle in the city, eating the best ice cream I've ever had in the gelaterie next to the tourist office ... I answered above that the length of stay was just right, but with half decent weather my stay would have needed to be longer as there are quite a few things to see and the area has beautiful nature ideal for walking.

The whole Sanctuary is a beauty, with churches and chapels, a magnificent cemetery, lovely nature and mountains around. The employees, be it at the restaurant or the hotel, trust you (no security, no vigilance, etc.). The people at Croce Bianca Restaurant are very friendly. Also the (ex-voto) Gallery is worth the travel in itself: ultimate discover for me. Said so: there was twelve guests during my staying. I wouldn't know during High season...FabienSwitzerland
