Hotel was new and rooms nice and big with modern facilities. Down stairs has a restaurant & small coffee shop. The shuttle was handy from Newark but the drivers not always too friendly. The location is next to a prison and far from any shops/facilities. I didn't feel safe. You cannot go anywhere from the hotel unless its by Taxi.

Shuttle bus came as promised within 15-20 minutes of contacting the hotel from the airport pick up point. Runs roughly every 30 mins during the day and can be reserved at the hotel for return journeys. Check in was friendly and the room was comfortable and outside noise minimal. My early flight had been cancelled next day so I could sleep in. Didn't have breakfast. A good stay.

Stayed in this hotel 2 times before and after a flight from Newark airport. They have a shuttle service and a good breakfast. Also the connection with Manhattan (Penn station) is good with a train connection from Newark airport. Which is better (more easy) then from JFK. Buy your ticket in the terminal to avoid waiting lines. (12 dollar senior). No airport noise.

Close to airport is the reason to stay here. Hotel is basic, clean, no service besides rooms. Staff did what they needed. No smile there.friendly staff would make all the difference. The only really nice was the shuttle driver.

If you work in or / commute to NJ or NYC - this gem of a boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Newark is a must consider - it has the amenties you need, super easy to commute into/out of, has shuttle service, a restaurant but is also right be military park so you are close to restaurants / stores - all safe and you cannot beat the price - the accommodations are far superior to other hotels in NYC when you factor in price alone. Always my go to location

TRYP was a little bit more expensive than a regular motel or 2* but I was very impressed with my stay here. Firstly the location. 10min to Newark penn. close by to buses. Centrally located. If you don't mind the 30 min commute to New York Manhattan and can manage the confusing transit options, TRYP is definitely worth an option and you'll save a bit instead of staying in New York main stream. The facility was kept very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Not a lot of restaurant options in the area..but I loved both my stays here, one was in a smaller room and the other one was big. Definitely recommend.

When I spoke to the owner, I was told that there was no reservation and that they have stopped making reservations with Booking.com months ago, yet I received confirmation, very confusing and not professional I was left to find a last minute room!

Honestly, I find Newark to be sketchy and not super safe.
Honestly, I find Newark to be sketchy and not super safe. I used to be a flight attendant based out of EWR 30 years ago and it hasn't changed. We went to the Prudential Center for a concert, so we were just in and out for one night. I wouldn't recommend vacationing here ever.
Location suits me, near the airport & the shopping mall with a bar/restaurant next door for evening meal. Continental breakfast sufficient to get one started. Snack bar in the lobby, always handy. Beds very comfortable, bathroom clean, staff friendly. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times before & Will in the future, have always been happy. It has a car park-small fee. They’ve held my bags after check out, all making my stay very satisfactory.
Easy regular pick up/drop off at Newark Airport by hotel shuttle. My room was huge with a couch, kitchenette, desk, TV, bath and shower and king bed! Very big, immaculately clean, looks new or refurbished. Perfect for early morning international flight at EWR as Airport shuttle is 24/7, just booked when checking in. Nothing is a problem. It also has a gym and laundry

The location was perfect for the situation: a 12 hours layover between flights. The owner of this small business adapted to my needs, offering to return me to the airport the next morning. Five minute drive to airport. Small breakfast with fruit and coffee was ready for me. Shared bathroom was hotel quality and clean. Like being at home.

much cheaper than staying in Manhattan - take the light rail in front of NJPAC to Newark Penn Station
then Path Train or NJ Transit
can also take NJ Transit from Manhattan to Broad Street them Newark Light rail to NJPAC and walk 3 blocks
Hotel is 0.4 moles from Newark Penn Station and 3 blocks from NJPAC
Every person we encountered from the front desk to restaurant employees and also the airport shuttle drivers were fantastic. I love this hotel. It's our 3rd stay, and when flying out of Newark there's no other choice but the
Marriott Liberty International.
Stayed here to attend an event at Prudential center, so the location is super convenient. close to the airport.
Only guests can enter (keycard needed) the hotel, there’s security at night.
Breakfast was okay (a la carte) but nothing special.
I didn’t do the breakfast at the Hotel went down the street to IHOP everything was just Convenient for me and the family next time I am in Newark New Jersey I will be staying at the Marriott Hotel again had a great time there.
Was here for a conference in Manhattan, but chose to stay here. The hotel is directly across the street from Newark Penn Station, so it was easy to catch a NJ Transit train to Penn Station in NY and pick up the subway.
Nothing. It was shocking how bad this hotel was. I was stuck at Newark and this was the last hotel room I could find. When the cab came to drop us off, I should have turned around. It was unacceptable.
It’s really close to the airport so that’s good. The hotel has a transfer and it worked great. The breakfast is actually pretty great for being an hotel in the US.
