Hotel La Bussola, hotel in Amalfi

Set on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, Hotel La Bussola offers a large terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. The panoramic restaurant serves local cuisine, and rooms are stylish.

Great location, just a couple minutes' walk from the ferries and bus stops. Easy access to Amalfi's main streets, and a beautiful view of the coast from our balcony. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and attentive. They helped us plan our trips around the Amalfi Coast, gave us tips on where to eat, the towns we wanted to visit, etc. We decided to spend one of our nights away from the hotel, and the next day they called to make sure we were safe! The room was comfy and spacious, the minibar was always filled with complimentary water every day, and the jacuzzi tub was a welcome extra! The bed was quite comfy, and we had an extra blanket in case we were chilly. The bathroom was equipped with an extractor fan, so no worries about odors there! The restaurant was delicious - we had both regular meals, and the included breakfast. Everything was really tasty, and you could sample local (seafood) favorites, like the 'colatura di alici di Cetara' (Cetaran anchovy drippings) and of course, the Amalfi Coast's famous lemons! We also made use of their airport pickup and shuttle service. Although a tad pricey, at €150, it was well worth it to not worry about finding our way from Naples Airport to the coastline, especially with there being only one main, yet often very narrow road connecting the villages, it takes some skill behind the wheel to navigate those paths!

We travelled to Amalfi as a group of two friends and whilst Amalfi is lovely, it is a very sleepy town so there isn't much going on in the evenings. Perfect for couples/families but I'd recommend Positano for groups of friends!

Visiting Amalfi in the off-season was a good choice.

Visiting Amalfi in the off-season was a good choice. It felt like a normal town where you could see people work, go to school, shop for groceries and chat with neighbours. The tourist sites were open, parking was easy and we had the beautiful spots all to ourselves - the gardens of the Villla Rufulo in Ravello, the Sentiero degli Dei between Agerola and Nocelle, the black sand beaches, and plenty of restaurants are open.

December was perfect time, not crowded and plenty of shops and restaurants were open, beautiful small town with great views, I rather stay at amalfi than Positano where the whole town was shut down for winter and very over priced, you can take a day trip there on local bus for £3 one way.

Very nice place for a couple of days. Expensive but not as much as Positano. The roads are crazy and when we were there, they were closed for most part of the day. The ferries were not working due to the weather. Transportation and parking are a nightmare there.

Amalfi has everything you need for accommodations, food and shopping. It's the Amalfi Coast hub for Ferries and Buses to get you in and out of the area. A very bustling place and overcrowded for the middle of October. In past years the busy season was over by the end of September. Everyone seems to still be making up for the COVID shutdowns. Hoping it calms down in the coming years.

The location is amazing - on the rock right above the center of Amalfi, the view is breathtaking. You can sit on the balcony in the room, or in the terrace of the hotel, or lie near the pool and look at Amalfi coast below. The hotel has its one private beach equipped by sun beds and umbrellas. Shuttle buses are delivering the guests to the beach and to the center of Amalfi and back. Access to the beach is arranged via lift, so you do not need to go down and up along stairs. The staff is welcome and ready to help.

Most beautiful hotel which completely overwhelmed our expectations. In Amalfi I recommend to stay just there. It is in the very center of the beautiful historical town so you walk just few meters to the beach, restaurants or bus or a ferry. The view from the balcony or restaurant is outstanding and makes you wanna stay there forever. Wish we would book for more than just two nights. The hotel even has a great laundry service which comes in handy when you strolling though amalfi coast for more days.

The experience at Palazzo was incredible for our honeymoon on the amalfi coast. Between the friendliness of staff, the location overlooking the beach, and the small boutique space, it made us feel at home while away from home. Renata at the front desk was an absolute treat alongside Elvira and Maria in the mornings brought the best breakfast and the biggest smile. They also upgraded our room as a nice surprise on our honeymoon. Will be back a thousand times over!

Nice apartment, everything there, heating and warm water worked perfect as we stayed there in February - best time to explore the Amalficoast without crowds. Pogerola is a nice little village with a small alimentari where you get everything you need, nice people and beside steps also a regular bus to Amalfi, so a car isn't necessary. You can also hike directly from Pogerola to a lot of places. We had a really good time - thanks to Silvana & her family!
