The check in procedure was seamless. We got a taxi from the train station then walked to the apartment which was only a few blocks away. We were pleasantly surprised that we were right opposite the Piazza Repubblica which had lovely restaurants around the outside. Our apartment/room was spacious and comfortable. An added surprise was a complimentary continental breakfast each day with a coffee ☕ machine. It was so easy to walk everywhere from there.

Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.
For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

Beautiful city! Personally I think il Duomo is far more spectacular from the outside (although I didn't climb the dome) whilst la Basilica del Croce is far more spectacular inside, only 10 mins walk away, no queues and famous tombs such as Galileo Michaelangelo, Macchiavelli... So much to see and do, felt safe and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the opera themed concerts I attended in the evenings in beautiful church buildings! Very easy to be vegan!

Everything about Florence is amazing, but I felt robbed when trying to exchange money at a currency exchange office. The fees were extremely unfair—a 19.99% rate plus €9.99 per transaction! Be aware that once you hand over your money, the deal is considered final—even if you change your mind a second later, they won’t return it. I strongly recommend checking Google reviews before using any exchange office to avoid this kind of experience.

A total treasure house so it is best to read up on the city before you go and then make some choices. Check carefully on opening days and times for museums, churches etc. as you can miss out. Try to go beyond the most famous places such as the Uffizi, Duomo, Accademia etc and visit some lesser known places.
Make time to wander and to sit and enjoy a coffee or an ice cream as there are so many extraordinary places to see you can feel overwhelmed.

Florence is a city full of charm, history, and incredible culture, along with exceptional food. It’s the perfect place to fall in love with simplicity and enjoy the present moment by watching the locals and soaking in the unique atmosphere of the region. The people are very friendly, and it’s common to find yourself in a piazza, enjoying a good glass of wine and delicious food while meeting amazing new people.
I’m completely in love with this city!

I didn't know what to expect of Florence and we arrived by train from Rome which was all hustle and bustle and a bit grubby but with fantastic antiquities, Florence has the antiquities but none of the hustle and bustle and we found a roof top bar and watched the sun go down and experienced the best it could offer, on our budget. David was sensational, I am not an art expert but the sheer magnitude and detail is extraordinary and there are many other breath-taking parts too.
It is a city that I would truly say everyone should visit once and if you can only afford Rome or Florence, pick Florence.

As a tourist, Florence is a great city to visit on a short stay and having the luxury of staying in the city centre means you can walk everywhere. There isn't a lot of green space so a short 2-3 day stay is probably better than anything longer.
The city's monuments, galleries and attractions showcase the best of art and culture, especially the Rennaissance period.
Put on comfortable walking shoes and hit the pavement! Firenze awaits.

It’s one of the best houses where I stayed in Italy! It’s in the very beautiful territory where you can feel the Tuscany nature despite the fact that you’re in a city. The house is very beautiful, spacious and clean. There are so many small details that make you feel that you’re home and not in the hotel! The owner is very friendly, helpful and nice person. The house is good connected with the center of city, and it’s not far. For us it was a pity that we booked it’s only for 1 night, we would stay there more!
Alessandro is the kindest man you’ll meet in Italy! I am a study abroad student, so I wanted to book a place near the city center for my family when they came to visit. Their stay was perfect, and the breakfast was great. From start to finish, the experience at B&B Dell’Olio was AMAZING. I will make many trips to Florence in the future and will book here each time!
This place is fantastic! In the city center of Florence, the rooms are full of history and well renovated. The bed was incredible with a super nice top mattress, it looked like a 5 start hotel. the host Chiara was super kind and help to let become this vacation one of the best we ever had. Highly recommended!!!
Best airbnb we stayed in Italy, clean, cozy, beautiful, modern and Manuela was very welcoming and made an amazing Italian breakfast and recommended many great places to see in Florence😊
