A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

This is a very busy city, a major tourist site, but is absolutely jam packed with history, amazing buildings, fantastic restaurants and as much shopping as you could wish for. Because of the connection to Romeo and Juliet you will find an over abundance of reference and souvenirs but hey ho. A good 3 to 4 day break to get it all in without rushing. One tip, hold on tight if you use a taxi!

If like me , you are covering a number of destinations over a short period of time, then a day in Verona is enough unless you have specific things in mind which require more time. Of course if you just want to just chill out and take it easy, then Verona is your destination! It is a slow and dreamy city and has something to offer everyone, be it sightseeing, food or shopping.
As a vegetarian, my favourite place to eat was Ravioleria Ging Castelvechhio at Corso Castelvecchio 3, Verona. Their vegetarian bao buns were freshly made, piping hot and very delicious! Excellent value for money!

We went to Verona in early March and liked the fact it wasn't crazy crowded. It's a beautiful city with lots of hidden gems. I was only able to spend one night but 2 or 3 would have been better.

Obviously very popular with tourists but for us it was not about doing the usual tourist things but just walking the streets, finding places to eat away from the main tourist hub and just taking in the atmosphere of the place...its really a great place to just hangout!

Verona is a beautiful Italian city.
Verona is a beautiful Italian city. This was my second trip and I fell in love with it all over again. It is quite small, so two to three days would be perfect. We stayed right in the heart of the old town, on Via Leoncino, which is a short walk from the delightful Piazza Bra and the Arena. Almost everything is within walking distance, and I particularly loved sitting at one of the many outdoor cafes in Piazza Bra with my aperitivo, just watching the world go by! The city is full of wonderful cafes and restaurants - the problem is 'which one to choose' but one of our top recommendations is La Taverna Di Via Stella (on Via Stella), a short walk from another delightful square, Piazza delle Erbe, where we had a wonderful meal on our last night in Verona.

A wonderful city to visit.
A wonderful city to visit. I loved the pedestrianized old town nestled in the bend of the river. So much to see and wonder at on foot - the architecture, the extraordinary Piazza Erbe, the silent duomo, the river and museums, and the stunning Roman arena. The only waste of time was Juliet's balcony, though I think we have to be impressed by the skill in having taken something fictional and turning it into a very successful tourist goldmine!
It was my first time in Verona and I loved it. Not as overwhelming as the "big 3" (Rome, Florence, Venice). Though humming in the daytime, it was relatively quiet at night and very navigable and safe - which was important for this solo female traveller.
Lovely building in a great location, it was nicely decorated, clean and spacious. We really liked the room and the mini bar was a nice touch and cheap! The city centre was about an 8 minute walk right to the centre so absolutely perfect. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some great advice on getting to the hotel from the airport. There was ample space to hand and store clothes and cases and the shower was lovely as well, powerful and nice temperature. The room itself was nice and clean with everything we could need for a short stay.
we absolutely loved our stay at casa corvina! we spent two nights here when first arriving to Italy - the location could not be more perfect for spending our time exploring verona. Andrea was a fabulous host who met us and helped us with our bags, made some great recommendations and even helped get us a dinner reservation at one of his favorite restaurants. beautiful views from the apartment, at all times of the day! we would stay here again without a moments hesitation should we ever return to verona.
Second time stay at the Hotel Verona. Very friendly, helpful staff at reception. This time I had the buffet-style continental breakfast, which was very adequate.
Lovely room on first floor, clean, comfy, great shower ....
The hotel is in a great location, around a 10 min walk to Porta Nuova train station and less than that to get to Piazza Bra and the Arena ( and shops ).
When checking-out I asked for a cab ( to go direct to the airport ) and it arrived before I had said " Arrivederci" to staff.
This place is not as advertised. It was SO loud. From train noise to hearing the nearby neighbors talking, going to yhs bathroom, or making any noise, it was like they were inside my room. It was a very unpleasant stay. The room was clean but the building and room smelled terrible… I spent as much time out of the place as possible. Neighborhood was close to city center, but other than that, nothing was appealing. I’ve been traveling around Italy and the is one of the worst places I stayed.
An absolutely beautiful apartment. Tremendous value for money with a beautiful setting only minutes walk from the heart of Verona. Arthur was absolutely incredible and I wouldn’t have seen HALF of Verona without Arthur’s advice and also his assistance with restaurants and recommendations. An amazing asset to the Lady Capulet apartments in what was my absolute favourite stay on my recent “tour” of Italy. Made the better by Arthur
Everything. From all my experiences stay in Italy. This facilities is exceptional and one of great services i received si far. Great Lucatiin, accomidarive staff and keep up with the policy as they stated. Very oet-fr82nsly facilities and welcoming my fur buddy to enjiuy our stay. They event accommodate my request and welcomed pet in open heart and value for money.. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who visited Verona.
The hotel really exceeded our expectations. From the big luxury room, comfortable bed to the great location, only 5 mins walk from main sightseeings (but on a quiet street). The staff was super polite and helpful. All you can expect from a 5 star hotel. And last but not least - a fabulous breakfast served till 11 for late birds like us. Just don’t hesitate - book it.
The staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable as ere the beds, the air-conditioning and hot water worked - not something we have found in many hotels in Italy. The location was excellent, close to all major tourist destinations and only short walk to the Arena for our nights at the opera.
Perfect apartment for a trip to Verona! Everything in the apartment is at a 5 stars hotel level., decorated with love for details and hand picked items. Andrea takes time for his guests, sharing valuable insider tips for exploring the city.
We will definitely come back, so happy to have found this place.
We went for Standart Room but they offer Romeo Suite for very reasonable price then we accept. It was exceptional. Very large, very quiet, incredibly clean. Staff were awesome. They were helpful, always smiling. Also the best breakfast we had in the north of Italy. Thanks for everything
the hotel is clean and comfortable although a bit far from the train station if with luggages . the staff is accomodating with questions and the price is reasonable for its price . i will probably stay again if i need a hotel in verona due to its proximity to the train station.
10 to 15 minute walk to the city center and 5 minute from the train station. It costs less than 30 EUR or 15 minutes from the Verona Airport. The hotel has an inside parking. Breakfast was very good and hotel people are all friendly. It is a value for money hotel.
it was spacious and very well organized and had everything you needed. it even had 2 bathrooms and a washing machine! Also, of all our stays in Italy it had the best instructions for operating all the appliances. I would definitely stay here again!
Loved my stay so much. It felt like it was a 5 star room (actually, suite) at a 5 star hotel. Blown away by the beautiful room, bathroom, the hosts kindness & help and the location. It’s my favourite street in Verona. Highly highly recommend!!
Everything about the Hotel Leopardi was amazing..from check in, desk, room, kitchen.
Everything was above expectations
And true value for money
For my next visit to Verona I will definitely choose Leopardi again
