Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.
Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.
A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.
Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

As always friendly place, loads of great pubs, restaurants casino etc. The only downside was a lot of visible dog poo on pavement in Kemp Town....disappointing that some of the residents are so selfish!

There were a lot of roadworks and navigating the uneven pavements was not easy for pensioners even though we are quite fit. We enjoyed a rock /blues concert at The Brighton Centre. My husband found the ambiance "edgy" and our hotel was a little haven!

Brighton is lovely, they just need to clean up the city a bit finding needles on the street outside ur hotel is quite foul … lovely city but it’s rough and their council need to take better care of it I.e street parking is a joke I’d hate to live there for this reason alone! Huge Bins everywhere making it seem scruffier somehow. The beach is dirty looking and not maintained with homeless people setting up camp sites all over the place. Smack heads dominate the beach area… £2 to walk on the pier is absolutely shocking when most people spend their money on there anyway! All in all we enjoyed ourselves but prepair to be bent over like a 9 bob note at every turn

Lively town, lots of shopping, restaurants, and the sea! We favour bills and wahacca, for food, the lanes are worth a visit. Just have fun wandering round and discover something new. The beautiful Brighton pavilion is worth a visit.

We had a fantastic stay at Drakes Hotel. It is positioned within easy walking distance of the town centre, the pier and facing the beach. It has very good and friendly staff, a lovely little bar and lounge for guests overlooking the seafront; and the room we had was very reasonably priced when comparing to other Brighton venues.
I was informed the hotel has recently been bought and will be refurbishing the hotel, so all the above may well change!
The hotel was located right on the beach and near the heart of Brighton, making it easy to access all the sights of Brighton while having food and entertainment nearby. Aside from the location, the staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was top notch. The bar service staff working in the evening were also great.
Room in a shared apartment in student accommodation. Reasonably well located both for Brighton and onwards journey via train stations nearby, which was great for hiking along the coast. Staff very friendly. Much cheaper than a hotel when I booked, so that was great. The Wi-Fi also worked well for me.
The hotel was overall better than expected it was very clean overall friendly staff good value for money for Brighton great location near the seafront good size room decent breakfast included in the price.
Best local for both station, beach and even bus(to white cliff/seven sisters!
Good luggage storage service!
Helpful staff!
Convenient shops near this hotel!
