This old ryokan in the middle of Magome is so well maintained that it feels like you're still back in the Edo period with a few mod cons thrown in. The futon bed was more than comfortable and the shared shower room wasn't an issue either. The 7 -course dinner they put on was so so tasty also. Alcohol wasn't offered but when I asked for some sake they kindly obliged. I would reccommend if you are passing through Magome.
