Nestled in the green heart of Holland in Linschoten nearby Utrecht lays the Louisehoeve, a farm from 1602 and part of the old Estate Linschoten. The cheese house of this farm have been recently converted into a new spacious and comfortable home.
Jaap & Karin have changed course in 2013 and moved to an old farm in the heart of the Netherlands. Jaap did the renovation himself and Karin signed for the decoration. Their dream was to start a simpler and more durable life in a natural environment.
Living at the Estate Linschoten is very quiet and peaceful. You are surrounded by typical Dutch landscape, architecture, and nature. A perfect scenery for a bike-ride or a walk. It's a green and hidden place in the middle of Holland. Nearby you wil find a variety of old cities with a very lively atmosphere. In the old center's there are square's with bars, restaurants, and shops. In Linschoten itself we have a view very good restaurants. De Burgemeester (the Mayer) restaurant is the proud owner of a Michelins star. You also will find a lot of cheese-farms in this aria with delicious type's of Dutch cheese. This region is already for ages the center of Ducht cheese making with the city of Gouda in the middle. During the summer there is every Thursday the "Gouda kaasmarkt" (Gouda cheese market) A must see! Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Leiden, all the important Dutch cities within a 30 minute car drive. Pay a visit to the old painters Van Gogh, Rembrand, and Vermeer, meet Anne Frank at the Anne Frank-house or take an evening cruise at the Amsterdam canals. Visit the trendy beaches at Scheveningen on a hot day, or see thousands of flauwers at the Keukenhof.
